Young Scientist Award

The ASAIHL - Scoups Young Scientist Awards are given annually to outstanding young scientists and researchers in Asia-Pacific who have made significant contributions to scholarship and society in four-categories: Life Sciences, Medicine, Engineering and Technology, and Agricultural Sciences.

For 2008, the award winner in each category will each receive a cash prize, a certificate of Recognition from ASAIHL and Scopus, and an all expense-paod trip to attend the award ceremony at the 28th ASAIHL General Conference at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang in December 2008.

ELIGIBILITY & APPLICATION PROCESS

The awards are open to candidates from Asia-Pacific, excluding Japan, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. candidates should be less than 40 years old as of 14 July 2008.

Candidates may be put forth by nomination or direct application. NOminations and applications must be supportes by two letters of recommendation.

 

EVALUATION PROCESS

All received applications will be evaluated by an international panel of three recognized experts in each of the four categories.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

• Average number of citayions per paper and h-index
• Average number of publications and patents per year
• Documented social impact

DEADLINES

• Nomination and applications are open starting July 14, 2008 and close on midnight of October 10, 2008.
• Late submission and incomplete applications will not be considered. results will be announced in mid-November. Application and Nomination forms can be downloaded from www.asaihl.asia/asaihl-awards
